This bronze Picasso goat sculpture reproduces one of Pablo Picasso’s most recognized animal forms, the 1950 wire-and-ceramic goat he built from found objects and later cast in bronze.

YouFine’s foundry recreates every rough edge and swollen belly line by hand, so the piece keeps the raw, unfinished energy of the original while standing strong as an outdoor art piece.

Capturing Picasso‘s Iconic Goat Form in Bronze

The goat’s arched horns, long neck, and rounded stomach follow the exact proportions Picasso used when he built the first version out of wicker baskets, palm leaves, and scrap metal. Our sculptors study the original composition closely and translate every curve into a clay model before casting.

The result reads as pure Picasso goat sculpture from any angle. The head tilts upward, the spine curves down, and the belly swells outward, giving the whole piece a sense of motion even though it stands still.

Hand-Textured Bronze Casting

We use the lost-wax casting method for this Pablo Picasso goat sculpture, which lets our team capture fine surface texture that machine casting simply can’t match. Skilled workers hammer and carve the wax mold by hand to build up the rough, pitted skin across the goat’s body, then pour the bronze in sections and weld them into one solid form.

After casting, artisans apply multiple layers of chemical patina and hand-rub the surface to create depth and shadow across the bronze. Each layer of color builds slowly, so the greens and browns look aged.

Built to Last Outdoors

Solid bronze resists cracking, fading, and weather damage far better than resin or fiberglass alternatives. With the sealed wax coating we apply before shipping, the patina holds its color for years even in direct sun and rain. Regular customers ask us to re-wax the surface every one to two years just to keep the shine consistent, but the bronze itself needs no other maintenance.
